Plant Director (m/f/d), DE/EN, Electrical Engineering, Northern Germany
General functions
He/she is accountable for all manufacturing and/or production goals across the entire site.
He/she applies the operational guidelines of the Group to ensure that quality products are produced at the right pace, on time and within established budgets.
Key responsibilities
#2 Staff Management. The Plant Director runs the Sites Management committee, communicating strategic direction, and ensures transverse collaboration between the following departments: Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Industrialization, Engineering, Accounting, Human Resources, Safety. He/she guarantees staff performance, managing and developing the teams, providing guidance towards goal achievements, and facilitating lateral cooperation between departments.
#3 Finance & Safety responsibility. The Plant Director defines and implements operational safety rules and instils a safety-conscious working culture in the factory, while ensuring that official regulatory standards are respected. He/she has the responsibility for capital and expense signoff up to authorized level.
#4 Change & Transformation Management. As the Group's representative, together with the HR, the Plant Director deals with internal organizations (staff representatives, unions etc.) and external bodies (local authorities, etc.). He/she ensures legally required standards are met and actively contributes to industrialize and internationalize the company.
Experience & skills
- Educational background: Master's degree, preferably in engineering or equivalent extensive experience.
- Industrial background: Proven experience in the industrial sector and excellent knowledge of power electronics. Experience in a large company of the electronical industry and an experience in the structuration of a business unit / company is required.
- Management: at least 8-10 years management experience and very good knowledge of operations (production, supply chain, quality...)
- Continuous Improvement: Good knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma processes.
- Financial knowledge: deep P&L and accounting understanding.
- Profile: Proven leader with an ability to engage and develop teams as well as interface with senior management. Decision making and organization skills as well as very good communication and presentation skills. Strong capacities to empower employees and transform a company.
- Languages : fluent English and German skills are required.
