Our client is a Belgian company, specialized in international negotiations within the FMCG and retail/wholesale sectors.

Junior International Buyer (m/f/d), FR/EN/DE, FMCG/retail/wholesale, Brussels

What to expect

Closely working with the Senior International Buyer, you support him in the negotiations with industrial suppliers.

Negotiations :  Together with the Senior International Buyer, you negotiate the purchasing prices and the referencing with the industrial suppliers. You build the negotiation arguments and recommend adapted tactical approaches to identify and implement successful commercial partnerships with strategic suppliers.You set the negotiated prices and are in charge of the application of commercial conditions.

Interface role and reporting : You put forward negotiation approaches to the commercial direction and its executive board. You also lead the partnership between industrial suppliers and the client partner entities in the different countries. You lead the communication with the different functional entities involved in the negotiation in Germany and Austria.

Performance and development monitoring : You monitor the performance of commercial relations between the company and its strategic partners and you submit the corresponding development plans.

Multicultural work environment : You are in contact with many people from different cultures and in a resolutely international context. 

What we're looking for 

  • Negotiation skills :  Academic studies preferably in Business with a first successful experience in a similar position, ideally in the retail or consumer goods sector at a FMCG distributor (ideally in the food or FMCG sector). 
  • Result-oriented personality: Competitive at heart, you are enthusiastic and know how to work under pressure in challenging negotiations.   
  • An autonomous, flexible and customer-oriented personality : You are well-known for your communication and diplomatic skills. You are a self-assured person, able to resolve conflicts. 
  • Languages and intercultural skills : You have a very good command (both written and spoken) of German, English and French. Your excellent intercultural skills enable you to interact and communicate on a daily basis with international partners, teams and suppliers.
