Your tasks
- Take and analyse environmental samples on the basis of predefined procedures (ϒ/α/β spectrometry, liquid scintillation ); critically analyse the results of measurements
- Draft procedures and instructions and update them as and when necessary (in the light of audits, regulations, standards, lessons learned, etc.)
- Write reports and assessments on environmental monitoring activities and contribute to the preparation of the annual report
- Take samples and perform measurements in the field as required during radiological emergencies and emergency response exercises (use of laboratory vehicles).
- Troubleshoot, organise and coordinate the repair of equipment in the event of a malfunction
- Oversee and organise monitoring of the laboratory’s metrology activities (calibration, verification, drafting of specifications, analysis of tenders and management of outsourcing)
- Assist with the management of laboratory consumables (stock management, purchasing, etc.)
- Operate the radiation monitoring stations and the meteorological station located outside the site and ensure that these stations remain in good working order, in compliance with the requirements of the decree (‘Arrêté’) of 3 August 2007.
Your profile
- You have a Level-4 or Level-5 technical qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent) in chemistry, instrumentation (physical measurements), health physics or Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
- Experience of working in the nuclear sector within a nuclear quality assurance framework and familiarity with the standard NF EN ISO / IEC 17025 would be an advantage
- As a specialist in laboratory measurements, you are proficient in the use of the tools associated with metrology and are able to interpret and make use of information and/or technical data
- You are a meticulous team player who can also work independently.
