Missions and Responsibilities:

One focus at our R&D center is to provide support to various types of operation, especially in the field of Syngas Production & Conversion. These include, developing and implementing optimal advanced process control strategies and solutions via combining the expertise in real time optimization, dynamic process modeling, fault detection and finally, model predictive control. The internship applicant is expected to have a very adaptive and quick learning can-do attitude, and to satisfy the majority of below-mentioned requirements.

Competencies:
  • Very strong background in process engineering and computational science, focusing on time-dependent differential equations and dynamic modeling
  • Sound theoretical and hands on expertise in:  First principle & data-driven dynamic modeling, Model predictive control (MPC), Distributed control systems (DCS) and process automation
  • Very strong programming skills in MATLAB & Simulink (Packages: deep learning, control systems, signal processing, system identification, etc)
  • Familiarity with the below-mentioned items are highly preferred: Data visualization and machine learning methods, especially clustering, artificial neural networks, etc,  Python (Packages: scikit-learn, keras, plotly, pandas, etc), Object-oriented programming, Optimization algorithms (e.g. MINLP)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Openness for agile project management, eg. Scrum methodology
  • Strong communication skills in an international environment
  • Very good team player
