For our growing business we are looking to hire an Irrigation Expert (m/f/d) for the Water and Agriculture Department at our headquarters in Essen, Germany.

As an Irrigation Expert (m/f/d) you will work in a team of consultants in the areas of project management, technical backstopping, acquisition of new projects and business development. We are looking for a motivated and committed colleague (m/f/d), who will support us in the day-to-day management of our on-going projects and assist us in the acquisition of new projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assignments in the field as a technical expert;
• Preparation of prequalification documents;
• Preparation of technical and financial bids;
• Project management (administrative, financial);
• Technical backstopping missions;
• Liaison with clients and donor agencies.
• University degree in fields related to civil engineering, irrigation or similar;
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an international environment, preferably in francophone Africa;
• Previous work experience in the international development cooperation and donor-funded irrigation projects (e.g. for KfW, World Bank, EU, AFD, GIZ or others);
• Experience with the procurement of services/goods will be considered a distinct asset;
• Excellent French language skills and very good English language skills. Language skills in German would be an asset;
• Ability to work in intercultural teams and willingness to travel abroad;
• Proven writing, communication and presentation skills.

Your profile:
