The successful candidate will be part of the Project Finance EMEA team and will be responsible for the origination, arranging, structuring, and execution of complex Structured Finance deals in the Commercial Real Estate space within the EMEA region, with a strong focus in Continental Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Benelux, ia.) and across several asset class including Logistics, Retail, Offices, PBSA, BTR, Hotels.

About the role

The successful candidate will have main responsibilities comprising the following:

  • Take an active part in the origination of Real Estate Structured Finance transactions across various markets; manage & develop a relationship with clients, lenders, advisors, ia.

  • Sound understanding of different asset classes and different type of commercial real estate investors, and their different dynamics, across various geographical markets.

  • Experience in the origination and execution (from the origination to financial closing) of Real Estate Structured Finance deals including among others: financial analysis, financial modelling, legal & financial structuring, drafting of internal applications for business and credit committees, managing Due Diligence process, financing documentation, ia.

  • Financial modelling skills, understanding of accounting, tax and legal concepts related to Commercial Real Estate deals, financial statements analysis, cash flow analysis, derivatives instruments related to deals, ia.

  • Credit/risk analysis skills; experience in preparing credit papers and reports, and negotiating and dealing with Credit Risk teams; strong ability to apprehend the upsides and downsides of each real estate opportunity.

  • Ability to understand, produce and negotiate complex real estate structured finance documentation (term sheets, commitment letters, credit agreements and others) and different type of complex financing structures.

  • Ability to work in a team structure and dealing with different internal areas (sectors coverage teams, global markets, sustainable finance, syndication, risk and legal departments, ia.)

  • Ability to coordinate and negotiate with clients, lenders, advisors.

  • Strong presentation skills, both orally and in writing; preparation of materials and presentations for client pitches


Position Requirements

  • At least 6 to 7 years of relevant business front-office / origination experience in Real Estate Structured Finance within a Corporate & Investment Bank and/or a leading Debt Fund.

  • Outstanding and proven track record of executed deals in several of the countries required (France, Italy, Germany, Benelux, ia.), ideally in MLA/Bookrunner positions with a distribution / syndication component.

  • Business School/University degree in economics or business administration, finance or related field.

  • Fluent in French and English, as well as a 2nd and/or 3rd European language (ideally German, Italian or Spanish).

  • Formal credit training a strong plus.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines.

  • Strong excel and power-point necessary; proficient in all Microsoft Office Tools.
