About the job
Internship purpose
AXA Group Innovation Team is the new consolidated Group team under Group Chief Technology and AI Officer focused on accelerate AI and innovation delivery across AXA Group in support of the Group Strategy.

This unit is in charge of delivering impactful innovation projects together with AXA’s operating companies with the ambition to scale up existing transformative business assets across the company. We partner with AXA entities to deliver Core Business Reinvention and New Business Asset Creation. Within this unit, the Venture Clienting team aims at accelerating the adoption and maximize the business impact and value creation of startup solutions and partners across AXA entities.

We find and scale opportunities in the form of tech assets to solve business problems within the 4 strategic priorities: Claims automation, underwriting transformation, contact center modernization and Software engineering automation. We also enable growth through innovation: achieve customer intimacy and innovate to insure new and emerging risks.

The Venture Clienting Consultant will work within the Venture Clienting team in the AXA Group Operations innovation unit. She/he will be in charge of the delivery of Venture Clienting innovation missions.

Key priorities include working with AXA entities to understand their needs with the support of a senior Venture Clienting expert, scout for startups to answer that need and present the results to the client entity.

It is an opportunity to train on the startup and especially insurtech ecosystem, to discover a new innovation model called Venture Clienting, ramp up on project management skills and understand the insurance business though the needs understanding.

Main missions
Your responsibilities include:
  • Scout and evaluate InsurTech partners for their ability to solve AXA business problems at Group level,
  • Participate in identifying and explicating business and customer pain points with the AXA Next teams through existing approaches (eg. Business prototyping, workshops, best practices analysis),
  • Contribute to designing innovative and attractive business value leveraging the identified partners and considering the existing landscape and considering local operational, business and financial constraints.
  • Working with entity stakeholders to define aspects of business plans (estimate budget on a stage-by-stage basis along with business impact), project timeline and tracking KPIs for project ROI.

Expected skills & experience
We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business / engineering / Digital Business,
  • A track record of training in consulting or finance.

Technical skills
  • Rigorous, good analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative), synthesis and ability to grasp trends is an absolute must,
  • Good mastery of Microsoft Office tools,
  • Experience in visual collaboration tool and remote working practice,
  • Basic knowledge of tech project delivery and insurance.

Soft skills / transversal skills
  • Good communication skills,
  • Self-starter with proven ability to achieve be an effective member of high-functioning multi-cultural teams,
  • Excellent sense of self-organization,
  • High degree of initiative and energy, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail,
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a compelling way to a variety of audiences, including convince and challenge in a positive way,
  • Good team player at ease in a multi-cultural and expertise team,
  • Independent, self-motivated with a desire to work in a growth-oriented, start-up environment, yet adapting to global corporate dynamics,
  • Flexibility to travel (if / when situation allows for it),
  • Good interpersonal and multilingual communication skills. French and English in particular (German is a plus),
  • Excellent strong work ethic, impeccable integrity, judgment.
